Through the Eyes of a Spare

An hier and a spare, is what most kings hoped for. The world of Naquin is no exception. The King of Halmion had two sons... Harold and Gavin. Harold seemed to be prepared to take his place as King but when his father died he was no where to be found leaving Gavin to rule under a regency until he was found. Idealy the crown should never have gone to Gavin or should it? Even if one does not have the training could the heart to lead be enough? For the next few weeks I present journals from Prince Gavin. Let me know what y'all think is a mere boy ready to rule a kingdom?

Why is it I'm left out of everything? I know Father tries. Maybe it's because I'm younger than Harold? It just seems that everyone except Father forgets about me. All the servants fuss over their next King, Harold. I have nothing against my brother. He has a lot of responsibility. Someday he will be King. I don't envy that. I'm not stupid. I have not been in when Father and Harold discuss what it means to be a King but I know it's a lot of work. I will never be King and I don't want to be. Harold can have it. I just wish they would let me stay up for the ball tonight. I enjoy dancing. There's also so many of my favorite sweets, but no I have to go to bed.

At least I got to hear the music they'll be dancing to tonight. Sir Wingravy is such a funny man. His accent makes me laugh. Then there is the mysterious female voice with him. He calls her Miharena. Harold says Miharena is not real but hervoice is simply Sir Windgravy throwing his own. Can a man sing as himself and a woman at the same time? Can he play two instruments while only appearing to play one? Even if he is a Sound Artist don't they need sound to make things happen? Can they use sound to make other sounds?

Sir Windgravy claims Miharena is a real person. Not sure why but I'm more inclined to believe him. Is that wrong that I don't believe my brother? Instead I trust the word of a stranger. Then again Harold has been acting strange. He has been cold. He no longer wants to do anything with me. He locks his door and I can hear him whispering something about wishes.

Some of the caslte staff have fallen ill. They've become pale and some have even fainted. Father says we shouldn't worry that perhaps it is a fever of some sort going around and they will be fine. Maybe he's right as they do seem to recover quickly. Most of them are fine moments afterward.
